Childhood mental health and life chances
On 7th May 2009 Marcus Richards presented his report on
childhood mental health and life chances to an invited group of
policy makers, service providers and other experts at the Houses of
Parliament. This was followed by a panel discussion chaired
by Angela Greatley (Chief Executive, Sainsbury Centre for Mental
Health) and joined by Adam Afriyie MP, Baroness Elizabeth Barker,
Dr Hugh Griffith, and Professor Lord Layard.
The report, based on the MRC National Survey of Health and
Development and two other British birth cohorts, was co-written
with Dr Rosemary Abbott (University of Cambridge).
